Most of the photos of my lighting of ZOG by Julia Donaldson are now up on the portfolio page here. But I had a few more than I could show there that I wanted people to see, so thought I’d do this blog post as well.

I’ve been visiting the Rose Theatre Kingston on tour for six or more years now, and it’s a challenging theatre, but a piece designed for that space will look excellent there. This time we made the conscious choice to lean into the staging challenge, omitting the sky cyc that will be the upstage background on tour in favour of showing the structure of the building – to good effect I think. It’s an ambition of mine to one of their future productions, so this was great experience and a step towards that aim.
