Bright Sparks

Links and Rex are like light and dark. They are the Left and Right. Links is logical, she likes order and fact. Rex is different, she is imaginative, a daydreamer.

A clowning piece for 3-7 year olds, Bright Sparks explores the beauty of difference and how things are always better when we work together. It’s delightfully humorous, playful and visually exciting, incorporating a ‘neural network’ of 32 colour mixing LED bulbs that flash, pulse and ripple colour to simulate functions of the brain.

Bright Sparks was devised by Filskit Theatre with support from The Incubator at the egg in Bath in response to research into the human brain – how the left and right side must be used together to enable sight, movement, speech and memory. It premiered at Polka Theatre as part of their Wellcome funded Brain Waves Festival.
